Dimensions and file formats are preserved. JPEG/WebP quality may change; color profiles and metadata may be removed. Animated images are not supported. Results depend on your browser and the original image.
Choose the right balance for your images
Use compression for website photos or email attachments when the dimensions are already right. Start with Balanced, then inspect fine text and edges before choosing stronger JPEG or WebP compression.
PNG compression keeps pixel data lossless, so screenshots may shrink less than photos. An already optimized image may stay the same size; repeated compression does not guarantee further savings.

Try WebP for a web image, or PNG when transparency and sharp graphics matter.
